CONSTITUTION OF THE HONORARY COMMITTEE
World Amateur Championship 2026
Mérida, Yucatán – Mexico
Preamble
In view of the organization of the World Amateur Championship 2026, to be held in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, an Honorary Committee (Comité de Honor) is hereby formally established.
The creation of the Honorary Committee reflects the international importance of the Championship and aims to strengthen its institutional standing, promote its values, and support its mission of fostering sport, friendship, cultural exchange, and fair play among nations.
Nature and Purpose of the Honorary Committee
The Honorary Committee is a non-executive, institutional body composed of distinguished personalities representing sports institutions, public authorities, international organizations, and civil society.
The Committee does not interfere with the operational or technical management of the event, which remains the responsibility of the Organizing Committee. Instead, it serves a representative, promotional, and advisory role.
The main purposes of the Honorary Committee are:
  1. Institutional Endorsement
    To provide official recognition and prestige to the World Amateur Championship 2026.
  2. Promotion of Values
    To uphold and promote the fundamental principles of amateur sport, including integrity, inclusivity, respect, solidarity, and international cooperation.

The Honorary Committee operates alongside the Organizing Committee and other official bodies of the Championship.

The Honorary Committee does not assume financial, legal, or administrative responsibilities regarding the organization of the event.

Final Provision
This Constitution of the Honorary Committee enters into force upon its official proclamation by the Organizing Committee of the World Amateur Championship 2026.
The Honorary Committee shall remain in function for the duration of the Championship cycle and may be formally dissolved following the conclusion of the event.
